Building Restoration in Boston
Oak Terrace was a restoration project in China Town that involved the renovation of 88 apartment units, common areas, and upgraded site work. The building’s exterior envelope consisted of brick an EIFS (Exterior Insulated Finish System). All of the newly renovated apartments required ventilation louvers to be installed to the exterior brick. ESI worked well with the other trades on site to determine the location of the louvers, while performing the work in a timely manner. Improvements included a new brick masonry addition and a new EIFS exhaust chimney.
Waterproofing & Finishing Touches
Along with these major improvements, we repaired, cleaned, and applied a waterproof coating to all EIFS surfaces on each elevation. ESI accessed these elevations by erecting swing scaffolding. We were contracted to clean organic growth and environmental stains from the façades. The intent was to waterproof and restore the original appearance of the EIFS. Finally, ESI completed the project by constructing a brick and cast stone masonry “Oak Terrace” sign that is nicely lit up at night, with a clean and neat appearance of the improved landscape design.
